The Visitors Center has been open since 2012, located in the heart of the processing plant of Ron Barcelo for the public in general, tourists, customers and people related to the brand. The design is inspired by a barrel, main element of the production of rum and is integrated into the landscape of the facilities.

Historic Center Ron Barceló
Design inspired by the shape of a barrel, with an interior courtyard. Located in the Barceló Export Import production plant site, where officially ageing warehouses are identified with number 50.
First of its kind in the country. Created for visitors to learn more about ancient and modern procedures used to create an excellent rum. At the Historic Center you can admire Ron Barceló processes that are carried out daily: aging, blending and packaging.
The Dominican Republic is a country located in the islands of the Greater Antilles, placing most of its territory in the eastern two-thirds over La Española Island, has a population of 11 million people. The Dominican Republic is the second largest country in the Caribbean; its territory covers 48,442 square kilometers. Its location in the center of the Caribbean makes it perfect for the production of rum.
San Pedro de Macorís
Region where is located our Historic Center, called “The Sultan of the East”, a province in the heart of the sugarcane region, in the east of the Dominican Republic, land of “The Guloyas”, artists, intellectuals, the national poet Pedro Mir and outstanding’s baseball players such as Sammy Sosa. It was an important economic bridge for the Dominican Republic in the late XIX and early XX centuries, received cultural contributions of various ethnic groups that enriched its culture through migration of people from the British West Indies, Dutch, French, English and Caribbean (cocolos ) as a result of the rise of the sugar mills.
Sugarcane was introduced by Christopher Columbus on his second trip to the island in 1493, highlighting the crop when mining dwindled needed settlers find another activity that was as profitable as it was mining. The idea for the sugar plantations and sugar production was surge, settling the first mills in the country. The sugarcane industry received a major modernization to become in the first 70 years of the last century the main economical activity of the Dominican Republic.
Tour & Reservations
Our visitors will enjoy a tour of our aging cellar, enjoying the rich aroma of our oldest aging reserves and observe the location of our barrels.
You will learn about the processes that we perform daily, manufacturing processes and packaging.
Finally for the big end, the Historic Center, where the visitors can live the experience of totally eclectic antique and modern pieces that conquered its charm and wraps them in a cultural environment.
